A Scotsman with a lifelong passion for the Highlands; Captain William G. MacDonald is the powerhouse behind MacDonalds Whisky and Chairman of the British East India Company.
Born on an island of the West Coast of Scotland, and a Fluent Gaelic speaker (the original language of the Highlands & Islands) having travelled the world over, he has forged relationships with many descendants of the original clansmen who were forced from their crofting communities after the Jacobean Rising. William is a true patriot of The Highlands and Islands and embraces the History, Culture, Music and Songs of his ancestors.
To all the Clansmen and Clanswomen living in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland I ask you all to be proud of your individual clans and their glorious history, most, if not all, having originated from 'Somerled' who was the first King Of The Hebrides, and to all those who are scattered and have settled around the world - but whose origins and hopefully their hearts are in the Highlands and Islands I say to you all:
