Clan MacDonald has been associated with whisky making in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland since this Great Highland Family was founded by Somerled in the early twelfth century.

As legendary masters of their craft and Lords of the Isles, they served the finest Scotch whisky to the Royal Kings of Scotland by special appointment. Nine centruries later, our quest continues for the creation of Scotch whisky that gives the true taste experience of the Highlands like no other.

As Clan descendants, we honour their original values of producing exceptional whisky by remaining faithful to traditional distilling methods, influenced by an abundance of natural raw materials and cool, wet climate.

The ‘Duelling Highlanders’ (shown right) idyllically symbolises the Clan MacDonald’s tradition of passing down skills from father to son - master to apprentice.
